Investments in Lukashenka's economy are falling.
In 2024, foreign investors invested $6.9 billion in the real sector of the Belarusian economy, which is 10.4% less than in 2023 ($7.7 billion), according to data from the National Statistical Committee.
In the form of foreign direct investment (74.8% of the total), $5.2 billion ($5.8 billion; -10.3%) was received.
Investments from Belarus abroad amounted to $4.9 billion ($5.7 billion; -14%). Direct investment accounted for 80.8% of all investments sent abroad.
The report did not take into account banks, non-bank credit and financial institutions, the Development Bank, or budgetary organizations.
This year, Belstat did not indicate the main countries from which investments came, as well as the states in which Belarusians invested.
In 2022, foreign investors invested $7 billion in the real sector of the Belarusian economy, and $8.7 billion in 2021.
