Ukraine's Defence Minister: We Want To Be NATO Country
RUSTEM UMEROV

Rustem Umerov said this after the ‘Ramstein’ meeting.

Ukraine's stance on Ukraine's accession to NATO remains unchanged. Ukraine wants and will be a country of the Alliance.

This was stated by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov after the ‘Ramstein’ meeting on assistance to Ukraine at NATO headquarters in Brussels, reports the correspondent of RBC-Ukraine.

‘Our stance is always the same: we want to be a NATO country, we will be a NATO country, we will be a European Union country. We have our defence capability and we are capable of doing it. So we have our own priorities. So any conclusions are made together with our people,’ he said.

The minister added that Ramstein is focused on security and defence assistance, so in this respect all political things will be said not by defence ministers.

‘You have heard these statements for the last 33 years, so you should get used to any statements,’ Umerov stated.
