On the night of February 19, drones attacked another oil refinery in Russia, located in the Samara Region.
Russian social media reports that the attack began at 2:45 local time. The oil refinery, which is part of Rosneft, was hit.
Local residents report at least three "bangs", after which a strong fire broke out on the territory of the Syzran Oil Refinery, writes Dialog.UA.
The governor of the Samara Region Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed the fact of the drone attack on the oil refinery. He said there were no casualties among the civilian population, and all emergency and operational services are working on the plant's territory. Local authorities expect new drone attacks.
Drones already attacked this refinery in March 2024. In connection with the incident at the airports of Ulyanovsk, Kazan and Nizhnekamsk, the Kovior ("Carpet") plan was introduced.
The Syzran Oil Refinery was commissioned in 1942. The plant's capacity is almost 9 million tons of oil per year. The enterprise processes West Siberian oil, as well as raw materials mined in the Samara region.
