They are as necessary for Belarusians today as air.

Very strong words of support for Belarus and Ukraine were heard during the Kosciuszko Forum in Gdansk on February 3 and 4, Radio Racyja reports.

According to Natallia Radzina, the Editor-in-Chief of the Charter97.org website, the main thing she heard and liked the most was the words of the Lithuanian Foreign Minister about the need to continue sanctions pressure on the Lukashenka regime and bring the case to the International Criminal Court to achieve an arrest warrant for the dictator:

“This is the most important thing I wanted to hear, because now we need to continue this principled line of pressure on the Lukashenka regime”.

Natallia Radzina also spoke about support for the media:

“It is very difficult to say anything about support now, because we see that it has only been decreasing in recent years. Of course, we hear a lot of words about the need to support the Belarusian opposition, independent media, and civil society, but in reality I can state that this support is only decreasing, unfortunately. And this is a big mistake.

Because, if we talk, for example, about independent media, Belarusians need them like air today. Moreover, independent media are the remaining tool for influencing the situation in Belarus.”

The Kosciuszko Forum was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Solidarity Center. Representatives of the Belarusian independent media, public and political sectors participated in it from the Belarusian side.
