Reuters: Russia Has Changed Its ‘Enemy Number One’

It is no longer the United States.

In connection with US President Donald Trump's attempts to restore relations with Russia, Moscow now views Great Britain, not the United States, as its "enemy number one." This was reported by Reuters, citing its own sources in the Russian Federation.

A number of factors indicate a deterioration in relations between Moscow and London, in particular the mutual expulsion of diplomats and the recent statement by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service about Britain's alleged attempt to disrupt Trump's efforts to establish peace in Ukraine, journalists write.

Their interlocutors among Russian officials acknowledged that Great Britain is now viewed as "Moscow's main enemy," which is allegedly "fomenting chaos and war" in Ukraine.

According to Reuters, high-ranking Russian politicians were "angered" by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's statements about his readiness to deploy British troops in Ukraine and cover Ukrainian airspace if peacekeeping forces appear. Moscow is also unhappy with Starmer's efforts to influence Trump to support Ukraine.

The agency also drew attention to the latest statements by Russian propagandists about London's alleged attempts "over the course of centuries" to "undermine Moscow's position." And leading Russian propagandist Dmitry Kiselev "joked" that the entire British army "could fit" in the Wembley football stadium in London.
