Already next week.
The issue of urgently providing Ukraine with €5 billion worth of ammunition will be discussed in detail at an informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Warsaw on April 2-3.
A top diplomat from one of the Western European states told a correspondent of the European Pravda newspaper about this.
“Regarding military support, we expect that the discussion of Ukraine's €5 billion needs will be discussed at the informal defense council next week. We hope that we will be able to reach some agreement in the coming days,” the diplomat said.
He specified that informal meetings of the EU Council do not have the authority to make decisions, “but they can certainly give further instructions” on the implementation of the agreements reached.
The defense ministers, according to him, will also “discuss the modalities” of Kaja Kallas' plan to provide Ukraine with military aid worth up to €40 billion.
The discussion of the Kallas initiative will also continue at the EU Foreign Affairs Council on April 14, the diplomat noted.
“It is still difficult to say when this initiative can be finalized and approved, and whether it will be approved at all,” the diplomat emphasized.
