Russian Air Defense Near Moscow Strikes Its Helicopter

The strike was made after mistaking it for a drone.

On the night of April 10, a military helicopter flew over the Moscow region. The Russian army, failing to identify it properly, decided to strike it, mistakenly assuming it was a Ukrainian drone. This unusual incident was witnessed by residents of the Moscow region, who later shared footage online, reports Dialog.UA.

Russian media sources claim that on the night of April 10, the Moscow region was allegedly attacked by drones.

Helicopters were dispatched to intercept them, and one of them was mistaken by the Russian air defense system for a drone. Z-channels also confirmed the incident near the town of Naro-Fominsk.

Propagandists also claimed that a drone had supposedly been shot down in this area. Residents of Naro-Fominsk confirmed hearing loud sounds, similar to an explosion, which occurred on April 9 at 10:30 PM.

During the "bang," many Russians felt their windows shaking and car alarms went off. It is possible that this was the helicopter incident.

However, no further information has emerged, which suggests the enemy helicopter managed to reach its base. The Russian Ministry of Defense often employs helicopters and other aircraft in the fight against drones. Early on April 10, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported shooting down 42 drones over the regions of Kursk, Bryansk, Moscow, Belgorod, Oryol, and Crimea.
