Chinese authorities have ordered the country's airlines to stop accepting deliveries of aircraft manufactured by the American Boeing company.
This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to informed sources.
The report says that this order was a response to the U.S. decision to impose duties on Chinese goods at a rate of 145%. The value of Boeing shares fell by 2.5 per cent in Tuesday morning trading.
In addition, Beijing instructed Chinese carriers to suspend any purchases of aircraft equipment and components from U.S. companies. According to Bloomberg's sources, the Chinese government is also considering supporting airlines that are leasing Boeing aircraft and facing rising costs due to the new U.S. duties.
