Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine will respond to Russian occupants who shell peaceful Ukrainian cities. According to him, Kyiv has the necessary armament for this purpose.

The President presented state awards to employees of the defence industry. Their professional day was 13 April - the day of the Russian strike in Sumy.

‘We have something to respond to such strikes, and we will not give rest to these bastards who kill our people. We have every right to do so. It is absolutely fair to respond to the killers as they deserve,’ the president said in an address on Wednesday, 16 April.

Zelensky emphasised that Russia should accept the inevitability of Ukrainian force. According to him, real peace is possible only when the reality forces Russia to recognise Ukraine's defensive capabilities - in particular, drones, missiles, artillery and other equipment that protects the country.

The head of state also thanked more than 300,000 Ukrainians who work at defence industry enterprises.
