‘There Are Also Priests With Epaulettes Under Their Cassocks’

Belarusians ridiculed the number of Lukashenka's security guards in the church on Easter.

An article on the Charter97.org website with a photo of Lukashenka visiting an Orthodox church in Talochyn on Easter has collected many comments from Belarusians. Readers ridicule the number of the ruler's security guards. Here are some of them:

— Why didn't anyone mention the guards in cassocks? There are at least four of them.

— This mustachioed demon has completely lost his mind, although maybe it's for the best. When he toppled crosses in Kurapaty, it came back to him in August 2020.

— I remember how deputy Lukashenka shouted from the rostrum of the Supreme Council of Belarus that the then head of state Stanislau Shushkevich had a staff of seven security guards, which is too expensive for the Belarusian budget.

— Now Kolya alone has a security staff twice as big as Shushkevich, and Luka doesn't care about the republican budget.

— There are definitely a dozen security guards in headscarves, and even priests with epaulettes under their cassocks. The 3-percent rat trembles at any extraneous noise.

— There are even more security guards in headscarves than men. And that's logical! After all, it's mostly women who hang out in churches.

— What was he doing in the altar? No one should be allowed in there. The chief priest performs church sacraments there. And here Luka is standing, like on a stage at the gate. Has he decided to push the sermon to the bodyguards?
