This War Cannot Have Intermediate End

What Trump is proposing is an obvious encouragement of the dictator.

It is a de facto return of Putin to the world club of top-level politicians and a green light to prepare further aggression. Right in front of our eyes, America is transforming from a guarantor of stability and security in the world into an accomplice of aggressors and dictators.

This war is part of Putin's strategic plans to revise the results of the Cold War. It is a geopolitical revenge of the Russian empire against the West and an attempt to return the world literally back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, Trump, even without going into his possible specific ties with the Russian intelligence services, by his type, his behaviour, his biography, organically fits into Putin's concept of revising the world order.

Trump does not understand what negotiation and the legal process are: for him, everything should be resolved according to the laws of mafia squabbles - not through institutions and norms, but through the ‘code of conduct’. Putin is close and understandable to him, while the liberal concept of the Free World, based on the search for compromise, is completely alien to him.

This war cannot have an intermediate ending. Putin's goal was, is and remains the elimination of the Ukrainian state. The war has become the engine of his regime. Putin's legitimacy is war. It has permeated every pore of Russian society, so Putin is not going to come out of it.

It is quite obvious that Putin now wants a respite so that he can then move on. Therefore, Trump's so-called peace initiatives will have far-reaching geopolitical consequences. The kind of world that we are used to is simply collapsing.
