Since April 26, the State Traffic Inspectorate will begin using new mobile photo and video recording systems for violations “Oracle Insight”. They will not be marked with road signs, and violators will receive “letters of happiness” automatically, said Viktar Ratchankou, head of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The new devices are installed directly on the State Traffic Inspectorate patrol cars and automatically record speed violations in both the same and opposite directions. Moreover, such areas will not be marked with road signs — drivers will be caught without warning. The main goal is to control compliance with the speed limit.
The complex can distinguish between types of vehicles and take into account the speed limits established for them. After processing the data, violators will receive so-called “letters of happiness” — decisions on fines.
The filming will be carried out from official State Traffic Inspectorate patrol cars equipped with special paint and beacons. The new systems have passed all the tests and can record violations on four lanes simultaneously, recognizing license plates at a distance of up to 500 meters. The penalty will be assigned automatically - the driver does not need to sign anything, just a notification will be sent by mail. The manufacturer of "Oracle Insight" is the company "Olvia" from St. Petersburg. The State Traffic Inspectorate believes that the new system will make the roads in Belarus safer.
