The Belarusian railway remains the most important link in supplying the Russian army, writes the Belarusian Railway Community in its analytical material. This is happening against the backdrop of a decline in transit and commercial shipments. In the first quarter of 2025, the flow of defense cargo between Belarus and Russia continued to grow.
Equipment, construction materials, and fuel and lubricants are regularly sent by rail in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry, including parts related to the nuclear arsenal.
Which Belarusian enterprises are most active in deliveries
From January to March 2025, the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant sent 93 wagons with military products to Russia. The bulk of the cargo consisted of heavy chassis and trailers used in air defense systems (S-400, S-300, S-350) and Iskander and Yars missile systems.
The recipients were leading Russian defense enterprises - Obukhov Plant, Almaz-Antey, Kupol, Titan-Barrikady and others.
The Belarusian enterprise from Mikashevichy "Spetszhelezobeton" continues to ship reinforced concrete sleepers for turnouts. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, 89 gondola cars with more than 5.5 thousand tons of products were sent to the facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The recipients include strategically important military facilities, including the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Strategic Missile Forces testing grounds, nuclear storage bases of the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, logistics centers of the Navy and the Aerospace Forces.
Some deliveries were intended for facilities in the Crimea and the Kaliningrad region, including the Baltic Fleet and the Black Sea Fleet.
At the same time, the "Community of Railway Workers" notes that no deliveries of weapons or ammunition were recorded in the first quarter of 2025.
