U.S. Ambassador Responds To Missile Strike On Kyiv
Bridget Brink

The diplomat mentioned Russia after criticism of Zelensky.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink responded to the missile strike on Kyiv on April 6. The diplomat referenced Russia in her post following what was considered a "weak" reaction to the terrorist attack on Kryvyi Rih.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Brink’s post on X (Twitter).

"As of 6:30 a.m., Kyiv and the rest of Ukraine remain under fire from ballistic and cruise missiles launched from Russia. Loud explosions in the capital and reports of attacks in several cities," wrote the ambassador.

In the comments on the post, users noted that the phrase "from Russia" was not entirely accurate.

The head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Andriy Kovalenko, also reacted to Brink’s post.

"The word 'Russia' was used. Progress," Kovalenko wrote in his Telegram channel.

It should be recalled that Bridget Brink had previously responded to Russia’s missile strike on Kryvyi Rih. However, in her post, the diplomat did not mention that it was a Russian missile that struck the city, killing 18 people, including nine children.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he was "unpleasantly surprised" by the U.S. embassy’s weak reaction.

"Unfortunately, the reaction of the American embassy is unpleasantly surprising: such a strong country, such a strong people—and such a weak response. They are even afraid to say the word 'Russian' when talking about the missile that killed children," the president emphasized.
