Rating Of Presidential Race Leader Increases In Poland

The Warsaw mayor would win in the first round of elections if they were held this Sunday.

Rafał Trzaskowski, the mayor of Warsaw and candidate of the ruling Civic Coalition, would win the first round of Poland's presidential election if it were held this Sunday.

A United Surveys poll for Wirtualna Polska has shown the corresponding results.

The poll showed that Rafal Trzaskowski would win the first round of the presidential election with 38.3 per cent support. This is 5.1 percentage points higher than in the corresponding poll conducted at the end of March.

In second place was Karol Nawrocki, supported by the opposition Law and Justice party, for whom 20.1 per cent of respondents would vote. This is 5.2 percentage points less than in the previous poll.

Slawomir Mentzen rounds out the top three with 18.8 per cent of support. The Confederation candidate has a stable result, which has remained at the same level for several weeks now. Compared to the last poll in March, he increased by 0.8 percentage points.

Seimas Speaker Szymon Holownia is off the pedestal and far from the other candidates with 7.1 per cent, which is 2.1 percentage points more than in the previous poll. The next places are occupied by Magdalena Biejat from Lewica with 2.7 per cent of support, Adrian Zandberg from the Together party, for whom 1.8 per cent of respondents would vote. Next are journalist Krzysztof Stanowski (1.6 per cent) and MEP Grzegorz Braun (1.1 per cent).

In the second round, 56.1 per cent of respondents would vote for Rafał Trzaskowski. 33.6 per cent would vote for Karol Nawrocki, while 10.3 per cent are still undecided.

The United Surveys for Wirtualna Polska poll was conducted on 4-6 April 2025 using the CAWI&CATI mixed method on a representative sample of 1,000 people.

As reported, 17 candidates have applied to run in the current Polish presidential election, the largest number of presidential aspirants since 1995.

The presidential election in Poland will be held on 18 May, with a possible run-off on 1 June.
