A Belarusian unit could also be part of the European army.
Belarusian politician and leader of the European Belarus Civic Campaign Andrei Sannikov stated that General Valerii Zaluzhnyi could help create a capable European armed force.
“The course of the new U.S. administration toward scaling back its support for Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity creates new serious challenges for Europe that require urgent and systematic responses.
Today, new ideas and unconventional solutions are needed. For example, the European Union could request the Ukrainian leadership to assign General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who served as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine until February 2024, to assist in creating a capable European armed force. There is hardly a more experienced and knowledgeable military leader in the world today, with extensive combat experience. A Belarusian military unit, composed of Belarusians who have become citizens of European countries, could also be part of these European armed forces.
A free Belarus is a key geopolitical factor for Europe, European security, and Ukraine,” Sannikov wrote on Facebook.
