The "Coalition of the Determined" is in place.

The new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in Kyiv on Saturday, May 10.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the telethon broadcast.

The European leaders were met at the train station in Kiev by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.

"Today will be a busy day. Extremely important meetings. We welcome to Ukraine four European leaders, leaders of the "coalition of the resolute". So we expect important decisions, we expect further cementing of European solidarity and support for Ukraine," Sibiga said at the train station.

Merz's first visit as German chancellor to Kiev

On May 6, the Bundestag voted to appoint Friedrich Merz as Germany's new chancellor. After that, he took the oath of office and officially assumed the new position.

Today was also the first official visit of Friedrich Merz to Ukraine as Chancellor of Germany.

Reminder that before that he visited the capital of Ukraine in early December last year. At that time, Merz said he supported providing Ukraine with long-range weapons. He noted that these weapons should have the ability to hit military facilities on Russian territory.

"Coalition of the Resolute"

The UK and France have led efforts to secure peace in Ukraine. A "Coalition of the Resolute" has been formed, bringing together countries willing to contribute troops or other assistance to keep the peace in Ukraine.

This coalition is distinguished by its quick decisions, willingness to supply modern weapons, train the Ukrainian military and help rebuild infrastructure.

The goal of such a coalition, as noted by British Defense Secretary John Healey, is to provide Ukraine with safe skies, safe seas, safety on land and to support Ukrainian defenders.

Meeting of the "coalition of the resolute"

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine will host a meeting of the leaders of the "coalition of the resolute."

He said that Ukraine together with its partners will have serious work to do.

The Ukrainian head of state did not disclose details about what exactly is planned to be discussed at the meeting.
