Russian Deputy Governor Of Belgorod Region Injured In Ukrainian Drone Attack

The strike took place in the early morning hours of May 9.

Two people were injured in an early morning Ukrainian drone strike on the government building of the Belgorod region, the region's governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. One of the injured turned out to be his deputy - Alexander Lorenz, the second was a Rosguard officer, writes The Moscow Times.

Gladkov's subordinate received a concussion and contusion, he was near the administration building at the time of the airplane-type drone raid, the head of the Belgorod region wrote in his Telegram channel. However, after the injury, the official laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and only after that he was examined by doctors of the regional clinical hospital, who revealed "concussion and acubarotrauma." He was not hospitalized.

Besides the deputy governor, the attack caused "a blind shrapnel wound of the thigh" to a Russian guardsman. He was sent to the hospital, Gladkov said.

The attack on the Belgorod government building occurred in the early morning hours of May 9. Judging by the video Gladkov posted, the drone crashed into one of the columns on the roof of the building. Initially, the head of the region reported that no one was injured. "Belgorod No. 1" wrote that the drone flew into Gladkov's window.
