The Kremlin has been given a clear deadline.

Ukraine's partners will work on a new system of security guarantees that will deter Russia from further aggression.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to French President Emmanuel Macron's statement at a press conference after a meeting of the "coalition of the resolute".

Macron named two key elements of Russia's deterrence after the ceasefire begins. According to him, the first "echelon" of defense will be the Ukrainian army itself.

"What exactly this model should be. Training of the Ukrainian military, reinforcement. It was a collective reflection at the level of general staffs, but now all the countries of the coalition have joined in this discussion," he explained.

The second level, according to Macron, should be the system of guarantees and deterrence, on which allied militaries are now working.

"We are now continuing at the level of the military to discuss how we see this deployment (of contingents - ed.), the contribution of each of us, how to build these guarantees in the long term," he added.

And he noted that now all of Ukraine's partners are striving for a ceasefire to begin on Monday.

"Further we could introduce such guarantees that would help deter Russia from further aggression," he concluded.

The ceasefire is due to begin on Monday, May 12

A new phase of the ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia is due to begin on Monday, May 12. The initiative envisions a complete ceasefire on land, sea and in the air for at least 30 days.

It should be noted that today, May 10, leaders of the so-called "coalition of the resolute" arrived in Kiev and held talks with the Ukrainian leadership and then went into direct communication with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The results of these talks set a clear deadline for Russia to agree to a cessation of hostilities by Monday.

We would like to remind you that the media have learned details of a document in which Ukraine, the US and the EU formed a list of conditions for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

It is worth noting that earlier today Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the silence regime should start on May 12.
