Major Belarusian Company Hit By New Ukrainian Sanctions

For cooperation with the Russian military-industrial complex.

On May 9, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski signed a decree on imposing sanctions against 58 individuals - Russian citizens and 74 companies. Among the latter was one Belarusian company - Planar, which specializes in the manufacture of equipment for the production of electronics.

According to the decree of the Ukrainian president, which was published on the website of Zelenski's office, the restrictions on the Belarusian company, which is also under U.S. sanctions, are imposed for a period of 10 years, and the reason for the sanctions is cooperation with the Russian military-industrial complex. The Belarusian company has not publicly commented on this news yet.

Besides the Belarusian Planar, the sanctions list, prepared by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), also includes one Chinese company, several enterprises registered in Iran and Uzbekistan. Most of the companies (67) that fell under the Ukrainian sanctions are Russian.
