China Backs Ukraine, EU And US Ceasefire Plan

Beijing is starting to put pressure on Putin.

China has supported the initiative of Ukraine, EU countries and the United States to impose a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. This was announced by the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Lin Jian.

"We support all efforts aimed at achieving peace and hope that the relevant parties will continue to reach a fair, lasting and binding peace agreement acceptable to all parties through dialog and negotiations and eventually reach a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis," Lin Jian said. His words were quoted by ChinaNews. He noted that dialogue and negotiations are the only way out of the war.

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also stressed that China intends to cooperate with the international community to resolve the situation in Ukraine and achieve lasting peace.

Ukraine and European countries earlier agreed on a full ceasefire for 30 days from May 12, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said following a meeting in Kiev with the leaders of France, Germany, the UK and Poland.
