Russian Combine Harvester Manufacturers Complain About Belarus

"Rosspetsmash" announced favorable conditions for Belarusian enterprises.

In the first quarter of 2025 in Russia, sales of local agricultural machinery fell by a third.

In monetary terms, sales fell to 38.3 billion rubles - that's 32.9% less than in the same period last year, according to the specialized association "Rosspetsmash". According to The Moscow Times, sales of combine harvesters and agricultural tractors fell the most, down 58.3% (to 437 units) and 39% (to 709 units) respectively. Sales of self-propelled forage harvesters (-32.4%), sprayers (-30%), grain cleaning machines (-25.3%), harrows (-20.3%), cultivators (-17.4%), harvesters (-13.2%), plows (-13%) and seeders (-4.5%) also went down.

Rosspetsmash named a number of factors influencing the decline in sales. These are high key rate of 21%, low profitability of agrarian business, insufficient measures of state support for machine builders and farmers. Also, Russians complain about more favorable conditions of competitors from Belarus.
