Trump Made A Statement About A Possible Meeting Between Ukraine And Russian Federation In Istanbul

The US president "insisted that the meeting must take place".

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that a meeting between representatives of the aggressor country Russian Federation and Ukraine next Thursday, May 15, in Istanbul is "very important," and added that he hopes for positive results from the event, writes New Voice.

President Trump made the statement at a May 12 White House press conference ahead of his visit to the Middle East.

"I have been very insistent that the meeting take place. I think good things can come out of this meeting. It's a bloodbath to stop the terrible bloodshed," the American head of state said.

In addition, Trump said his official visit to the Middle East this week "will be historic."
