In the capital of Libya, Tripoli, fighting between armed groups has unfolded. Military equipment has been brought to the streets of the city, evacuation of civilian airplanes has begun.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Libyan media.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Libya's National Unity Government has asked Tripoli residents not to leave their homes and "stay on the streets to ensure their safety."
Civil war erupted in Tripoli Libya. Hospitals are called to move to emergency mode.
Abdul Ghani Al-Kikli, a leader of the state-recognized and funded 'Stability Support Apparatus' (SSA) militia, has reportedly been killed in the fighting.

It is noted that the shooting was heard in different parts of the capital. According to unconfirmed reports, the fighting is between Misrata and Tripoli forces.
There are also reports that aircraft are being evacuated at Mitiga airport (about 8 km from Tripoli).

"The Mitiga International Airport Authority announces the complete suspension of air traffic and the redirection of flights arriving at Mitiga Airport," Libia Today 24 reported.

Nearly before the escalation in Libya, field commander Abdula Ghani al-Kikli (Geniva) was eliminated, Al Wasat wrote. He was the head of security of Libya's presidential council. Media outlets have suggested that his assassination may have triggered the current clashes.
