Irakli Kobakhidze accused them of silence.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze published an open letter on Facebook addressed to US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance. In the written address, he expressed dissatisfaction with the Trump administration's silence in response to Georgia's "readiness to renew the strategic partnership with the United States with a clean slate and with a concrete guide."
Kobakhidze said Georgia considers itself a reliable partner of the United States. Thus, the prime minister notes, the country has saved the US $2.5 billion in Iraq and Afghanistan by sending the largest contingent per capita there. In addition, Kobakhidze emphasized Georgia's commitment to democracy and respect for human rights.
"Given all this and against the background of the fact that you are engaged in active dialog and communication with a number of states, including openly undemocratic and authoritarian ones, your silence regarding Georgia has no logical explanation for us," he added.
The head of government stressed that there are still "unjustified sanctions against the deputy prime minister and other representatives of the Georgian authorities, who effectively prevented the attempt of violent change of power organized by the Biden administration and the USAID-funded attempt of revolution and violence."
