France Announces New Sanctions Against Russian Federation

Macron demands a cease-fire from Putin.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that sanctions will be applied against Russia in the coming days if it does not adhere to the ceasefire.

"We want to apply sanctions against Russia in the coming days in agreement with the United States if it does not adhere to the ceasefire," Macron said.

He also said he did not yet know whether Russian dictator Vladimir Putin would visit Istanbul for talks. Still waiting for Russia's response.

"Our security is at stake in Ukraine. We want a ceasefire on land, sea and air for 30 days. Russia wants the ceasefire to be discussed in Turkey," the French president added.
