Who's Paying For The Banquet?

"Lukashenko's 'Reserve Fund' finances vacations for children from Egypt, Palestine and Russia.

Lukashenko signed an order to allocate funds for the organization of recreation for 314 children from Algeria, Egypt, India, China, Laos, Myanmar, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, as well as Kursk region of Russia, writes Telegram-channel, close to Lukashenko's press service. It is reported that the rest will be organized at the National Children's Educational and Recreational Center "Zubrenok.

While staying in Belarus, the children will undergo a medical examination, receive the necessary spa treatment, visit cultural events and significant historical sites in Minsk and the regions.

The corresponding order specifies the amount to be spent on this - Br2581.6 thousand. The money will be allocated from Lukashenko's "reserve fund," that is, at the expense of taxpayers, as this fund is formed from the republican budget.

By the way, it's much more than it was allocated from the same fund in 2022. Then, as reported in the review "Kosht Urada," 410.7 thousand rubles were allocated for vacations for children from Syria and Uzbekistan, writes "Salidarnasts".

The "Kosht Urada" project called Lukashenko's "reserve fund" a real "black box" inside other "black boxes." Every year the size of the fund can vary greatly, the directions of its use are also varied. However, detailed information on the fund's expenditures remains limited and is available with a long delay. For example, in 2024, only information for 2022 was available.
