Polish Border Guards: People In Belarusian Uniforms Helped Migrants To Cross The Border Illegally

Polish border guards recorded the presence of people in Belarusian uniforms among a group trying to illegally cross the border from the side of Belarus. According to them, these persons facilitated foreigners in their attempt to violate the border.
The incident occurred in the morning of May 14, 2025 in the area of responsibility of the border post in Cheremsha, Polish border guards reported. A small group of individuals tried to illegally cross the border, using a grinder to destroy the fence as well as stepladders. Among the foreigners on the Belarusian side, border guards spotted two individuals in military uniforms who were allegedly helping the migrants.
Three of the group managed to get through the fence and into Polish territory. The rest returned back to Belarus.
Polish security forces detained one of the migrants at the border, two more a short time later. The detainees are citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan. They have already been issued decisions to leave Poland.
The Polish side emphasizes that the Belarusian territory near the border is a zone accessible only to the Belarusian special services. Nevertheless, according to the Polish authorities, it is they who organize and support attempts of illegal penetration of migrants into Poland: they show them the weak areas of the border, gather groups of foreigners, transport them and provide them with tools for the breakthrough. At the same time, according to the Polish side, migrants do not intend to seek protection in Poland, but seek to get to Western European countries as quickly as possible.
