Ukraine And Russia Start Talks In Istanbul

Negotiations take place without intermediaries.

Ukrainian and Russian delegations have started negotiations. Representatives of Turkey were also present at the beginning of the meeting.

Medinsky Vladimir Rostislavich - Putin's aide (head of the delegation);

Galuzin Mikhail Yurievich - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia;

Kostyukov Igor Valeryevich - Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation;

Fomin Alexander Vasilyevich - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Members of the Ukrainian delegation, headed by the head of the Ministry of Defense Rustem Umerov, are:

first deputy foreign minister Sergey Kislitsa;

deputy chairman of the SBU Alexander Poklad;

first deputy chairman of the Foreign Intelligence Service Oleg Lugovsky;

deputy chief of the AFU General Staff Alexei Shevchenko;

deputy chief of the GUR Vadim Skibitsky;

deputy chief of staff of the Air Force Command Evgeny Shinkarev; deputy chief of staff of the Navy Command Alexander Diakov;

the head of the department of international and operational law of the Central Legal Department of the General Staff of the AFU Alexei Malovatsky;

the senior officer of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff Alexander Sherikhov;

the protocol officer of the Office of the Chief Commander of the AFU Georgiy Kuzmichev;

the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Alexander Bevz.

Sources told RBC-Ukraine that the talks between Ukraine and Russia are likely to be held without mediators, as the Russian side opposed the presence of representatives of the United States and Turkey.
