Italy's prime minister commented on the talks in Istanbul.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that the war in Ukraine should end with an unconditional ceasefire.
This is reported by ANSA.
She said that only such a prerequisite will make it possible to proceed to negotiations on a long-term peace, the basis of which should be reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.
Melony noted that recent events have clearly shown "who is actually ready to take steps towards peace and who is not." She emphasized that it was necessary not just to stop the war, but to conclude a "serious peace agreement" that would take into account Kiev's security interests.
"We must insist on an unconditional ceasefire and peace, the war must end," she told reporters. The Italian leader also drew attention to the fact that not all sides are involved in the negotiations, which, in her opinion, is important for understanding the true intentions of the participants in the conflict.
