Ukraine's Prime Minister Reveals Details About Ukrainian-American Investment Fund

Ratification of the agreement is planned as soon as possible.

The Investment Fund for Ukraine's recovery will be registered in the United States, while the currency of its account will be the hryvnia. This was (told) by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, wrote MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

"The preliminary agreement is that the Fund will be registered in the United States, but the account in Ukraine and replenishment in hryvnia," Zheleznyak quoted the Ukrainian prime minister as saying.

Answering a question whether the ratification of the agreement is indeed planned for May 8, Shmygal said they hope to do it as soon as possible.

"We ask for ratification as soon as possible. We will be grateful," the MP quoted Shmygal as saying.

As for the other two documents, which should determine the technical details of the agreement, Shmygal said that they are inter-institutional agreements that are agreed in principle and are not subject to ratification.
