How the Lukashists "congratulated" a 103-year-old lying veteran.
A "truly touching and warm meeting" between the chairman of Minsk District Executive Committee Vladimir Yurgievich and 103-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War Ivan Survilo took place in Zaslavl, wrote the newspaper "Prystalichcha" on May 2. However, under the video of the meeting in TikTok, commenters disagree that it was warm, "Zerkalo" wrote.
The family of the veteran, who is to turn 104 on May 23, was congratulated on the coming Victory Day, except Yurgievich, by the chairman of the Zaslavl City Executive Committee Svetlana Kartasheva, the military commissar of the Minsk District Military Commissariat Dmitry Godun and the director of the Zaslavl Children's School of Fine Arts Valery Shkurski.
"Unfortunately, Ivan Antonovich does not have the strength to shake hands with the guests as before. But the song "Victory Day", which for the dear veteran was performed under the accordion by the staff of the children's school of arts, he finished with everyone present!", - wrote the district newspaper.
A year ago, when Ivan Survilo was congratulated in the same way, a relative said that he could not hear or see anything. The veteran even then did not have the strength to lift himself up or roll over on his own.
In the video of the congratulations, cheerful officials sing a song and the veteran's daughter raises his arms to clap. Judging from the clip, the man apparently still understood what was roughly going on.
In less than 24 hours the video has racked up nearly 400,000 views and in the comments (of which there are nearly 1,500 at the time of publication) people are often displeased:
"I think this is something creepy."
"One thing is a shame! That most of these congratulations are for report and video. And not for the soul and the memory."
"They come once a year, whistle and go away."
"They decided to finish Grandpa off."
"You should have done something for them before. They deserved the Maldives, vacations abroad. They deserved it. And you, officials, remembered him with an accordion while dying."
When the video was noticed in social networks and the media, it was removed. The video lasted only 17 hours in the TikTok account of Zaslavl|Online.
In the war, former partisan private Ivan Survilo was a rifleman of the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division of the Polish Army and took part in the Vistula-Oder operation. For his service he was awarded medals "For the Liberation of Warsaw", "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "For the capture of Berlin". He received the Order of Patriotic War of the II degree.
