The Kremlin has demonstrated cynicism of the highest order.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has reacted to the overnight strikes on Ukraine, saying it is "cynicism of the highest level." He also emphasized that Russia asks for silence on May 9, but continues shelling Ukraine every day.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's Telegram.
On the night of May 4, Kiev was subjected to a large-scale attack by Russian drones. Fires engulfed houses and cars in the capital's residential areas, rescuers worked all night to help the victims.
The victims include children and adults, all of whom received the necessary medical care. In addition, there was a fire in Cherkasy, where a dormitory was burning.
Zelensky said that KAB strikes continued this morning in Donetsk and Sumy regions.
Attacks also took place in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Kiev regions. The enemy does not stop its aggression.
"The Russians are asking for silence on May 9, while they themselves are hitting Ukraine every day. This is cynicism of the highest level. This week Russia has used more than 1,180 attack drones, 1,360 guided aerial bombs and 10 missiles of various types against Ukraine," the president said.
He emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a real ceasefire, but it should be permanent, not limited to holiday dates.
"If silence, then daily, if ceasefire, then not on their holidays, but on every day," Zelensky said.
The president also thanked international partners for their support and pressure on Russia, emphasizing the importance of further assistance to Ukraine.
