A Lithuanian Man Rammed The Fence At The Border With Belarus With His Car

The man was apprehended.

A Lithuanian man driving a carshare car rammed the border fence with Belarus on Saturday night, Lithuanian border guards reported.

The incident took place in Vilnius district.

The driver broke through a fence set up on Lithuanian territory and ended up on the border line on the Belarusian side.

The man was driving a car with transportation company signs at high speed on an old unused road that backs up to the border. There are two signs on it, first the one marking a cul-de-sac and then the one prohibiting traffic.

The driver failed to notice or ignored them and rammed into two spans of fence. The car's airbags deployed, the front part of the car was seriously damaged.
