Belarusians Are Leaving Georgia

The country doesn't want to give them asylum.
In 2023-2024, the number of Belarusians living in Georgia decreased by more than 1 thousand people.
This is reported by devby.io, based on the information of the National Statistics Service of Georgia.
In 2023, 3,557 citizens of Belarus entered Georgia, and 4,537 left, i.e. negative balance - 980 people. In 2024, the indicators of entry-departure amounted to 2451 and 2598 respectively, the negative balance - 147 Belarusians.
Belarusian emigrants arrived in Georgia en masse in 2022 - then 12509 more people entered the country than left. In 2021, the positive balance was equal to 1426.
As of January 1, 2025, there were 12808 migrants with Belarusian citizenship in Georgia. Over the past four years, 20952 people entered here, and 8144 left.
In 2019-2024, the Georgian authorities did not satisfy a single asylum application from Belarusians. Meanwhile, there were cases of denial of entry to some activists after zeroing out the period of authorized stay in the country.
Fresh data from the Georgian Interior Ministry show that 13 Belarusians, including two minors, were denied asylum in Q1 2025. The total number of refusals since 2019 reached 69, of which 15 cases were minors. At the same time, none of the applications were approved.
