Callas Announces Final Step On Putin Tribunal

The draft Special Tribunal is ready and awaiting political approval.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas will announce on May 9 in Lviv the allocation of another 1 billion euros to Kiev for defense, as well as the final step on the creation of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. Kallas made the statement on Thursday, May 8, in Warsaw at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers, DW correspondent reported.

"Tomorrow we will give final political approval for the creation of a war crimes tribunal, crimes of aggression," she said.

The draft of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine is ready and awaiting political approval. It is unofficially called a "tribunal for Putin" because in international jurisprudence, the highest leadership of the state is considered responsible for the crime of aggression. EU foreign ministers are expected to visit Lviv on 9 May.
